SUMMARY:SECOND ANNUAL CECP COMBINED TRAINING EVENT
DESCRIPTION:This is an all-day event for EVERYONE. All proceeds go to support our Therapeutic Riding programs. Come on out for family activities\, games\, food\, and beverages. There is a BAR! The concessions and Bar are the primary fundraising tools\, as well as a 50/50 raffle and a “pay what it’s worth” table full of items you may want…who knows? \nThe Horse Show is for your entertainment. What is Combined Training in the horse world? It is a competition derived from the US Cavalry test. The same horse and rider compete in three distinct phases: dressage (flatwork showcasing precision and obedience)\, cross-country jumping (navigating challenging obstacles over varied terrain)\, and stadium jumping (a standard show jumping course.) SUMMARY:Second Annual Equine Endurance Race
DESCRIPTION:Centro Ecuestre Caballerizas Paraíso is preparing for its SECOND ANNUAL Endurance Race!\nCompetitor Registration Form CLICK HERE \nThis is a Fundraising event to benefit our Therapeutic Riding programs. \n Sponsor a Student Competitor \nEndurance racing is a worldwide sport that is new to Baja…until now. Three races will be offered: a 25-mile\, a 10-mile\, and a 2.5-K for our CAM school students (students with disabilities). \nCompetitors must present their horses to the veterinary team on the 14th\, from 1:00-3:00 PM\, to confirm readiness to race and record “normal” vital signs. The horse and rider will be rechecked on March 15th\, the morning of the race. For the 10-mile race\, there will be a veterinary check after 5 miles and a veterinary check at the end of the second 5-mile loop.. \nHorses competing in the 25-mile race will continue after passing the second veterinary check. \nAt the 5\, 10\, and 25-mile mark\, the horse will only have a limited time to return to “normal” heart rate and respiration and prove soundness before continuing or finishing. \nEvent Day Schedule: \n6:30 AM breakfast snack bar opens for business (open until 2:00 PM) \n7:00 AM Veterinarians begin pre-race check \n\nCompetition Secretary will be available\n\n8:00 AM The first group of competitors starts the 25-mile race. \n\nSmall groups of competitors will start their races in 5-minute intervals.  Beginning with 25-milers\, then 10-milers\, and finally the 5-K competitors.\n\n10:00 AM (approximately) The first group of competitors will begin arriving for their second vet check before continuing to the second half of the 25-mile race. \n\nThe 10-mile racers will be finishing and reporting to the veterinarians\n\n11:00 Am (approximately) The 5-K racers will finish and report to the Veterinarians. \n1:00 PM (approximately) The 25-mile racers will cross the finish line and report to the veterinarians \n3:30 PM Awards Ceremony \n\n\n\nConcession stand re-opens: Food and drinks can be purchased at this time.\n\n\n\nPlaces to Watch the Races: \n\nChateau San Felipe Winery: You can watch from their rooftop dining area while enjoying wine and food. The horses will be approaching from the west through the desert\, crossing the highway\, and traveling down the winery’s road to the beach portion of the race. The winery also has water stops for the horses.\n\n \n\nHilltops east of Centro Ecuestre Caballerizas Paraíso (you need to hike to them). Park at Centro Ecuestre Caballerizas Paraíso the morning of the 15th\, and a volunteer will show you where to hike. It is only a mile.
