This is a Fundraising event to benefit our Therapeutic Riding programs.
Endurance racing is a worldwide sport that is new to Baja…until now. Three races will be offered: a 25-mile, a 10-mile, and a 2.5-K for our CAM school students (students with disabilities).
Competitors must present their horses to the veterinary team on the 14th, from 1:00-3:00 PM, to confirm readiness to race and record “normal” vital signs. The horse and rider will be rechecked on March 15th, the morning of the race. For the 10-mile race, there will be a veterinary check after 5 miles and a veterinary check at the end of the second 5-mile loop..
Horses competing in the 25-mile race will continue after passing the second veterinary check.
At the 5, 10, and 25-mile mark, the horse will only have a limited time to return to “normal” heart rate and respiration and prove soundness before continuing or finishing.
